About Us
Hi, we are Sevim and Melek —a mother-daughter duo with a shared passion for handmade bags and yarn.
My mother, Sevim, is a retiree living in her home country of Turkey. In her younger years, she worked as a seamstress and later went on to open and run her own at-home nail salon for many years. Creativity has always been a part of her life. Knitting was a long-time hobby, but during the pandemic—when everything came to a halt—she turned to crocheting to pass the time.
What began as a few handmade bags quickly grew into many more. Before long, we had so many pieces that I suggested we turn her hobby into a small business. Today, every item we offer is one of a kind, lovingly crocheted by my mother with exceptional care and attention to detail.
I, on the other hand, am not nearly as skilled with my hands, but my background is in the creative film industry, where storytelling and creativity have long been central to my life. For years, I invested heavily in luxury bags, clothing, and accessories. Recently, however, I made the decision to sell my designer pieces and transition fully to handmade goods—many of them created by my mother. I could never go back.
As I learned more about the luxury fashion industry, I learnt how many high-end brands rely on mass production, significant markups, and unsustainable materials. In particular, many so-called “vegan” luxury products.
In contrast, we source our materials in Turkey and use high-quality cotton and macrame blends, prioritising local support and thoughtful production. Each creation requires dozens of hours of precise care. Our goal is to honour the true value of handmade work and to offer authentic, sustainable pieces that celebrate time, care, and individuality.
